What's it about?

17 year-old Arden Munro's brother Scott has crashed his snowmobile through the thin ice on a river and now everybody presumes he's dead. Everyone but Arden. She's convinced he staged his death and she becomes obsessed with finding him.

Where did you get the idea?

I had read newspaper reports of a horrible, though not atypical, snowmobile accident in Northern Minnesota, where I was living at the time. After drinking in a tavern, a snowmobiler disappeared through thin ice. They didn’t find his body for weeks. I began wondering, What if they never find him? What's the story about that?

Is this one your favorites?

Yes! I wrote this while my family was moving from one town to another. Life was nuts. I was nuts. But somehow the book turned out to be pretty good and I’m proud of that. Also, I like Arden a lot.
